


Fantastic even.īut it's not a 100% solid fps (probably around 95%). At the moment, I can run native 4k at 50hz v-synced when I'm playing games with all the bells and whistles, and it's awesome.

My circumstances: I've got a 1080 ti and a 50" Hisense 4k TV. The benefit being that you get most of the sharpness boost from a rez increase with a substantial reduction in performance cost, thus enabling 60fps/60hz, or a more consistent 60fps. One of the takeaways was that it's possible to create an internal custom resolution of say 3200x1800 then have the GPU upscale that content to 4k. However i tried to plug both cables at the same time and then the Mac though i got two monitors and if i clicked mirror display i could then set the 3840x2160 resolution but to be honest i am not sure what the implications are of using both Display and HDMI cable at the same time into the same monitor when trying to full the MAC pro that it has 2 monitors nor do i find a logical explanation as of why the 4k resolution is working with 2 monitors and not with one.ĭid someone see this issue before? Did you manage to sort it out?I was reading an article on Eurogamer about 'things PCs can learn from consoles regarding 4k content'. I tried to use the HDMI also and other than the refresh rate (60 vs 30 Display port/HDMI )i do not see a change in resolution. I got an Nvidia GTX 780 card and I am using the Display cable at the moment. I just bought VP2780 monitor and even though at the "About this mac" I am seeing the monitor correctly with a resolution of 3840x2160, when i am trying to set the resolution of in "Display preferences" the maximum i am seeing in the scaled list is 3200x1800.
